You might remember Beckie & Darryl from their Connection session we did out in Vegas earlier this year. Well, Saturday was their big day and I was on the road just after 6 am to start the 3.5 hour journey to Elkhorn, MB.
I have been looking forward to this one for a couple of reasons – the drive out to a small town I have never been and the fact that these two are just great people to hang out with.
I really enjoyed my time out in Vegas with them and we got some wicked photos so I knew that their wedding day would be no different. They went all out to find great locations around their town – that I would like to shoot at… Gotta love that! We had their first meet on an old stone bridge, visited two sites with stone ruins (where I had a grasshopper climb up my pants without me knowing and I could not get the bugger out) , a beautiful old barn in the middle of nowhere and even some old car wrecks close to town. I loved them all and Beckie looked amazing!
They put a lot of work into decorating the hall for the reception. Beautiful lighting, draped linen and a stunning cake added to the laughter to create the perfect atmosphere for a wedding celebration.
It was crazy hot though… WOW! I think last weekend was the hottest I have ever been in Canada and it got close to my home city weather back in South Africa. Sweat dripping hot…
Congratulations to you both for such a beautiful wedding. I am sure you guys will have many great stories to tell your kids one day and your wedding will be a popular one. I hope you enjoy your honeymoon and I look forward to your comments when you get back!
A special word of thanks to the people of Elkhorn who made me feel right at home and also to the ghost that stayed away at the Inn I spent the night at… YIKES!

PS. Beckie I loved it that your sister was impressed with how well I handled driving on the gravel roads… LOL!
